[edit] Information

The incredible story behind these wonders of the ancient world. Discovery Channel series examines the history of pyramids and the stories underlying their construction. Egypt is far from exclusive to the pyramids, they are everywhere! Pyramids turn up at the most unlikely places in the world. On the island of Java, in the Peruvian desert in China, and even on Iraq's oil fields. It is a little known fact that there are actually more pyramids in Mexico than Egypt. The documentary investigates why this might be and aims to shed light on a number of other mysteries and misunderstandings surrounding the construction of these ancient structures. While the pyramids at first glance looks remarkably alike, this is far from the case. We explore the differences in both structure and function, and take you on an unforgettable journey through the pyramid mystery. Hosted by archaeologist Dr. Bob Brier, this three-episode series emphasizes the mystery and intrigue attending the creation of the world's ancient monuments to the deceased. Directed by Peter Spry-Leverton Produced by PSL Productions Ltd. for TLC
